The brochure is almost ready to go to press.

Alvino Contreras has been ill. He was in the hospital for a couple of weeks. I just talked to him and he sounds strong. He says he will give his talk and conduct the tour as always.

I get inquiries on what are the 'must do' events. Obviously I think they are all worthwhile or I wouldn't ask folks to present them. But, I am surprised that some are lightly attended. If you are looking for 'Festival's best kept secrets' then try:

I did some price adjustments this year. Lowered the price of the El Camino Real/Armendaris Ranch tour. I want to keep it under $100. Raised the Annual Dinner price due to increased costs. It is about break even. I kept the lunches at $15. I lose money on those but they are convenient for attendees and fifteen bucks is a lot for lunch. Raised the price a little on the Deadly Beauty tours. Raised the price of advanced registration from $3 to $5. This is per registration, not per attendee. It covers the cost of phone calls, badges and mailing. Other than that it is pretty much the same.

Our pricing philosophy is to break even.

Valerie Graves will do indoor and outdoor sketching
