Our education director worked with students from our local schools for the last five years, teaching them about water, ecology, restoration, pollution, and of course our refuge. In 2009 we purchased 3 cameras for the program, and a class of 13 students came out to the refuge every week for 9 weeks to create the photos and text for this book. This book showcases the success of this program- how it reached the children on many levels and changed their perception of the natural world around them. As an outreach tool, this book is like a visitor center in your pocket. It summarizes refuge history and resources, highlights particular species, describes management techniques, and presents tidbits of trivia. All of this information is enhanced by dozens of photos and quotes from the children, which are strikingly poetic and insightful. $12.95 ![]() Rio Grande River of Connection DVD Presented by Mapping the Rio Watershed Education Project Produced by New Mexico Wilderness Alliance for the Friends of the Bosque del Apache NWR, Narrators Carlos Marrero and Tita van Fleet; Alexis Rykken and Cecelia Jacka as Consultants Writers, Photographers $12.95 ![]() CD Sounds of the Bosque Bosque del Apache NWR $15.99 ![]() An Oasis for Wilderness Bosque del Apache NWR $12 ![]() CD Cacti of the Desert Arboretum Photos by Fran Bartle Bosque del Apache NWR $10 NOTE: Secure checkout is through PayPal where you may pay with your credit card or with PayPal. |
